Privacy policy

1. Who we are

Astrela runs astrela.ai. When this policy says "we", it means Astrela. You can reach us at info@astrela.ai.

2. What we collect

We collect very little, and only what you give us or what any website receives when you visit it.

Messages and applications. When you use the contact form or the network application form, we receive what you type: your name, your email address, and the message or practice details you choose to share. The forms are handled by Formspree, a form service based in the United States, which passes your message to our mailbox.
Newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address goes to Substack, the service that sends our newsletter. Substack's own privacy policy applies to that subscription.
Technical data. Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time of visit) for security and performance, for a limited period. The page fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when a page loads.

We set no cookies of our own and we run no advertising or tracking scripts.

3. Why, and on what basis

We use this information to reply to you, to assess an application to the network, to send you the newsletter you asked for, and to keep the site running and secure. For visitors in the European Union, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the legal bases are your consent (newsletter), steps taken at your request before an agreement (applications), and our legitimate interests in answering you and keeping the site safe.

Only the service providers named above, each for the purpose named, and only as much as they need. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

Messages and applications: as long as we need them to handle your request and keep a record of our correspondence, after which we delete them. Newsletter: until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any email. Server logs: for the short period our hosting provider keeps them.

6. Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our use of it, or ask for a copy in a portable form. If you are in California, you also have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither). Write to info@astrela.ai and we will answer within the time the law allows. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

7. Where data is processed

We operate from the United States and our providers process data there. Where the law requires safeguards for transfers from the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the standard contractual terms our providers offer.

8. Children

This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.

9. Health information

Please do not send personal health information through our forms or by email. We do not ask for it and we do not want to hold it. Anything you read on this site is general education, as explained in our health content disclaimer.

10. Changes

We will update this page when our practices change, and the date at the top will change with it.
